Objective: Apply my experience, skills, and fast learning abilities as a pre and post Sales Technical Support Engineer supporting aggressive hardware/software products.
Experience:Pre Sales Support: Assisted field sales efforts by providing extensive support for prospects evaluating demo systems. Answered complex technical questions providing an air of competence for the company's technical support capabilities. Actively supported sales efforts by demonstrating security software packages, helping prospects to learn and understand its application and usefulness to their organization.

Technical Support: Provided phone and onsite hardware/software support for single and multi-processor Solaris servers including 64bit Solaris systems running a 64bit port of Solaris. Communicated regularly with security and system administrators to help install, configure, and implement security software packages designed to provide enterprise-wide, policy-based control over system and network access, password management, and privileged access delegation.

Systems Administration: Administrated and maintained muti-platform networks with UNIX machines including AIX, Digital Unix, HP-UX, IRIX, Solaris, and SunOS, and PC machines running Windows 95 and NT. Tasks included user account management, security software testing and implementation, upgrading hardware and software, system recovery, shell scripting, job automation (cron), and user support. Trouble shot and solved problems with hardware including hard drives, processors, NICs, modems and multi-media, and software including network setups, TCP/IP, NIS/NIS+, and a wide variety of applications.

Network Administration: Implemented NIS/NIS+, managed the setup, configuration, and maintenance of a TCP/IP local area network. Installed, configured, and managed information and proxy services such as HTTP and FTP.

Training: Trained users to use system and network applications such as TCP/IP applications, database managers, word processors, graphic design and layout tools. Trained peer administrators and security administrators in the use of UniShield 2.0 and 3.0, a sophisticated and powerful security software package for UNIX and NT. Coordinated training sessions to teach sales staff how to demonstrate and explain the use of security software GUIs to prospects. Provided a basic understanding of the UNIX environment and its security issues with documentation detailing step by step information on how and what to explain to prospects during a demonstration.

Development: Created and maintained a plethora of internal scripts. Scripts included CGI web-based applications, task automation, database interfaces through ODBC using SQL and documentation control. Web-based applications included a bug tracker and helpdesk system. Wrote architectural design documents to use in guiding the development of internal applications. Designed and implemented complex platform independent UNIX shell scripts to collect from compiled source binaries, distribute, install, and remove software packages. Assisted in the invention and development of graphical user interface designs for RAC and UniShield 3.0, a complete cross-platform UNIX security solution.

Operating Systems: AIX 4.1, Digital UNIX 3.x, HP-UX 9.x 10.x, IRIX 5.3 6.2, Solaris 5.x, SunOS 4.1.x, Linux, NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows 9x, NOVELL 3.x, QNX, BeOS, and more
